Approved Retirement Withdrawal, Amir and Imad joins T20I series against Kiwis.
Mohammed Amir made himself available for Pakistan by withdrawing his retirement, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) respectfully made him feel about his importance in the team. Amir’s announcement of availability came a day after Imad Wasim’s retirement withdrawal.
Amir’s last appearance wearing Pakistan jersey was a T20I match against England in 2020.
After this he declared his retirement in December in the same year, at the age of only 28. Amir stated about his retirement that he felt mentally tortured. Amir posted the news of his withdrawal of retirement saying that he still dreams to play for Pakistan and after some positive discussions between him and PCB about his importance in the team, he decided to withdraw his retirement.
Previous Pereformance
His great performance in CPL, makes him the key bowler to rely for Pakistan. He took 43 wickets with an economical run-rate of only 6.50. Although having a great season in CPL, he had a mild season for Quetta Gladiators in PSL (Pakistan Super League) as he took 10 wickets in 9 matches with the economy rate of 8.41.
Remarkable Series.
As Mohammed Amir and Imad Wasim are available for Pakistan before the mega event, T20 World Cup 2024. They both have been called by PCB for the 5 match T20I-series against New Zealand starting from 18th april. After 2020, this series is going to be Amir’s comeback series and Imad Wasim first series after 2023. This series could be remarkable as Babar Azam is going to retake the captaincy of Pakistan’s white-Ball campaign and Azhar Mahmood has been called as the head coach of Pakistan.

The series against New Zealand will start from 18th April in Rawalpindi and Lahore and will last till 27.
