After 700 Test Wickets, Anderson Heads To Break Sachin’s Record.

On saturday, march 9 2024, England Pacer James Anderson became the one and only seamer to achieve the summit of 700 test wickets. In the 147 years long test cricket history, James Anderson is the only fast bowler to reach the summit of 700 test wickets. Followed by the Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Murlitharan and Australian legendary spinner Shane Warne. Both of the spinners have crossed the 700 summit earlier and ahead of Anderson till now. Murlitharan has taken 800 wickets in tests (the most by any bowler) in 133 matches. With a gap of 92 test wickets Shane Warne follows the list after Murlitharan with 708 test wickets in 145 matches in test history. 

James Anderson made his debut in 2002, when he was 20 years old against Australia. This veteran pacer had a long career and is still fit and playing for his team. This English pacer has appeared in 187 matches of test and 384 test innings. He will be in the sights to break the record of  most matches in Test cricket held by Sachin Tendulkar’s 200 matches in Test cricket. 

He dismissed Kuldeep Yadav in the 2nd innings of 3rd day of the 5th test between India Vs England, in the morning earlier to  reach this milestone. However, he could not help his team to win the test series and as a result India ruined the visitors (England) by winning the series 4-1.
