All Approved Replacement for The Injured Players in IPL.
The 17th edition of IPL is going to start within less than a week. The first match is held between CSK (Chennai) and RCB (Bangalore) at the venue of Chepauk Stadium (Homeground of Chennai). But due to many reasons few players have decided to not be part of this IPL season. Few players have their respective reasons to withdraw, while some are compelled to do so. Here is the brief description of all the players to be ruled out of this season of IPL and also their replacement named by their Franchises.
Devon Conway
Devon Conway will not be available for this season of IPL due to Thumb Surgery because of his injury in the AUS vs NZ T20i series. Unavailability of this Kiwi player can be a serious difficulty for the CSK management, as he was the top-scorer in the previous season of IPL in which Chennai won. While opening for Chennai last season, he scored 672 runs with an impressive average of 51.69. Veteran English pacer Richard Gleeson has been named as the replacement for Conway.
Jason Roy
The star English-opening batsman will not be available for this season of IPL for KKR (Kolkata). He has withdrawn from this season due to personal reasons but Phill Salt has been named as replacement. He could be a good replacement for KKR as he stands in second position in rankings in T20Is currently.
Mohammed Shami
The biggest name in the injured list of players is Mohammed Shami, as he is ruled out of IPL 2024 and also the T20 WORLD CUP 2024. Read here about the absence of Mohammed shami . It’s a big difficulty for GT (Gujarat) to name his replacement and No Replacement has been made till now.
Mark Wood
This star English-pacer has also decided to withdraw from this Season to manage his workload for the Upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Due to his absence, LSG has named Shamar Joseph as his replacement. Shamar joseph became a star bowler for West Indies after the historic win at Gabba.
Prasidh Krishna
A sad news for RR’s fans as one of their main bowlers, Prasidh Krishna was injured while playing a Ranji Trophy match. He has an injury in the quadriceps tendon, and No official announcement has been made till now by Rajasthan for replacement of Prasidh Krishna.
Harry Brook
This young English player has also withdrawn from IPL because of the death of her grandmother. He was purchased by DC (Delhi) for 4 crores in the IPL Auction. He failed to perform for SRH in his debut season at the IPL 2023. DC is yet to name a Replacement for Harry Brook.
Lungi Ngidi
This South African Pacer is also ruled out of IPL 2024 due to injury. He was backed up by DC (Delhi) from the last two seasons. Though, he didn’t play any matches till now for Delhi. DC named Jake Fraser-Mcgurk as his replacement. Jake Fraser-Mcgurk is a dynamic all-rounder from australia. Recently, he also scored a 29 ball century, fastest in a one-day game.
Gus Atkinson
Gus Atkinson was compelled by his board, ECB (England), for managing his workload. He is a Right-Arm fast bowler who was bought by KKR at 1 crore. Sri-lankan pacer Dusmantha Chameera has been named as replacement for Gus Atkinson by KKR.
Dilshan Madushanka
This Left-arm pacer is also not available for the entire league due to hamstring injury during the tour to Bangladesh. This Sri-lankan pacer has been replaced by the all new young star Kwena Maphaka of South Africa. The young gun proved his availability during the U19 World Cup 2024 by picking 21 wickets and became the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. This will be his debut season in IPL.
Adam Zampa
This Australian spinner also withdraws from IPL citing personal reasons. His last appearance in IPL was in 2023 in which he played six games and bagged eight wickets for his team Rajasthan Royals. Tanush Kotian has been named as replacement by their franchise. He is an bowling all-rounder who performed exceptionally in the Ranji Trophy.
