Fans want Rahul to quit LSG after Goenka Fumes him.

Sanjiv Goenka, owner of Lucknow SuperGiants franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was seen criticising K.L.Rahul after a jaw-dropping loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on 9th may. This scene was captured by camera after the match. With a heated expression on his face, Sanjiv Goenka was seen exchanging words with K.L.Rahul. The owner was seen very annoyed after a humiliating 10-wicket loss against SRH in a crucial match for their playoffs-race. 

The disappointment was clear at the Lucknow camp. Goenka, Rahul and their teammates were very disappointed due to this big loss, which resulted in a huge damage for their chances to secure their spot for the IPL-playoffs. Despite heading to SRH’s homeground with a hope to maintain their good record against the Home-team, Lucknow faltered against the rejuvenated SRH team. After a lot of efforts LSG managed to only put up a fighting total of 165 against SRH, only to witness an absolute carnage by both the opening partners and setting up a new T20 record. 

Due to this defeat, Lucknow slipped down to sixth place and also suffered from a huge damage on their net run-rate. Now after this they have 12 points in the same number of matches. If Lucknow had won this match, their chances of playoffs would have increased significantly. 

KL Rahul had to bear a lot of criticism for his defensive and cautious thinking on the field. Despite winning the toss, the skipper opted to bat first and defend their target but this decision resulted too costly as they failed to score in powerplay and didn’t give the team a good start, which resulted in the team scoring a modest total of 165, though after a good finish by Badoni and Pooran. Managing a mere total of 27 runs and losing 2 big wickets in the starting phase. Rahul was also criticised for his slow batting, he managed to score only 29 off 33 balls with an extremely low strike-rate of 87.88.

Fans were not happy watching Goenka treating Rahul like this publicly. Many fans believed that the owner of LSG should have waited till all the teammates went to the dressing room or a better private place. Now, the fans are very unhappy and are asking K.L.Rahul to leave LSG citing the unusual behavior by the owner towards the skipper.
