Ruturaj Stated “Trying to Bring my own shoes” on his Captaincy Expectations.

CSK registered their first win in the opening match against RCB as they won by 6 wickets with 8 balls in hand . This was the first match for Ruturaj Gaikwad as captain for CSK, and he started his campaign well by winning the first match. Mustafizur Rahman bagged 4 wickets and played the lead role against RCB. His wickets included the captain Faf Du Plesis, Rajat patidar, Virat Kohli and Cameron Green. 

As this is the last season of IPL in which we will see Dhoni playing for the yellow jersey, so while he is present, Ruturaj should learn all the captaincy skills by him. He became only the fourth player to lead CSK during the whole IPL history. Two years ago, Jadeja was given this opportunity but he could not make it much better as CSK finished at no. 9 , so during the campaign of 2022, Dhoni withdrew captaincy from him. Although all Dhoni fans are still waiting for one more “DEFINITELY NOT” to see his idol again. 

Ruturaj shared his feeling after the toss .

Ruturaj shared his speech before the match about his experience to lead the most successful franchise of IPL. He was asked by Ravi Shasti after the toss asking “Big Shoes to Fill” and the young boy (Ruturaj Gaikwad) gently stated “ Trying to Bring my own shoes and not to fill Mahi bhai’s shoes”. In this short interview he emitted positive energy and started his own and also his’ team as well. 

After Winning the toss, RCB opted to Bat first and after getting a good start wickets tumbled as Mustafizur Rahman came to bowl. But, after a bad middle over phase, selfless innings by Anuj Rawat and a good innings by Dinesh Karthik took RCB to a decent total of 173. Anuj Rawat scored 48 off 25 with 3 gigantic sixes and 4 fours. With the second innings started, Ruturaj Gaikwad and debutante Rachin Ravindra gave a flying start to chennai. Rachin made his debut  memorable by scoring 37 off just 15 with a strike rate of 246.67. CSK started their campaign just the way they left off in the previous season. Jadeja and Shivam Dube finished the match easily. 

From the start CSK made the total a very mere score for them and chased down the total successfully. The Victory-roll continued in the Chepauk stadium as RCB hadn’t won a match against CSK in Chepauk after the first season 2008.  Other than this, Virat Kohli became the first ever Indian batsman to score 12000 runs in T20.
